One visitor's story

One visitor's story

Earlier this summer, Robin Peirce travelled from New Zealand to visit the grave of her father Flight Lieutenant George Keith Malcolmson (pictured) of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, killed in action on 8 February 1945.  Mrs Peirce was able to spend some time at the BERGEN-OP-ZOOM WAR CEMETERY where her father,  is one of two New Zealanders.

Mrs Peirce was also privileged to be the guest of the Royal Netherlands Air Force at Gilze Rijen Airfield.  So during her visit, she was also visited several places related to her father's time with no. 2 Squadron in The Netherlands which was employed flying reconnaisance sorties over the retreating German army.

She is extremely grateful to the Commission and all the other individuals who made her visit so meaningful.
